Cakewrecks.com is not just funny – it’s genius.  Jen Yates has been sharing her excellent eye for professionally made cakes gone wrong since 2008.  As she puts it a cake deemed a wreck is “ unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate – you name it.” She curates themed galleries of cake disasters – we’re partial to these flowers of doom– , and boy are they funny.  Wise editors approached her for a book, also very funny.  The wedding ones make me shake my head – and hope those brides didn’t have total meltdowns.  On Sundays they show GORGEOUS cakes to cleanse the palate.  Enjoy!

Wedding Movie Recommendation!

Everybody loves Mr. Rogers.  This sweet documentary film, Mr. Rogers & Me, is the tale of a young guy becoming a man – and how a chance encounter outside his summer vacation rental set him on a quest to search out people who could teach him the ways of peace, kindness and emotional depth that Mr. Rogers had awakened in him, and to some extent in all of us who ever watched him put on his cardigan and toss his  sneakers in the air.  This quest left Benjamin Wagner and his brother better men than when they began it, and left me sniffling into a very crumpled kleenex. Enjoy. (and yes – keep an eye out for that wedding.)

Extra! Extra! It’s me, the My Little Flower Shop blogger on TV!

First it was our wedding on TLC, and now my adventures on television continue.  I’m an extra!  Check out this star turn as a Sherlock Holmes super fan on the CBS comedy Two Broke Girls. (that’s me in the green hat and gloves at the table in the opening scene).
